The Radolfzell chapter of the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC) has been working for many years to promote cycling in the region on the western shore of Lake Constance. The goal of its volunteers is to raise awareness of the bicycle as an environmentally friendly, healthy, and practical mode of transportation for everyday use, while continuously improving the infrastructure for cyclists in and around Radolfzell. The local chapter is part of the ADFC Constance District Association and works closely with local partners as well as the city of Radolfzell. Among other things, it advocates for safe bike paths, clear signage, and bicycle-friendly transportation policies.
In addition to this advocacy work, the local chapter organizes a wide range of activities for cycling enthusiasts. Guided bike tours through the diverse landscape around Lake Constance, the Hegau, and the Linzgau take place regularly. These include both leisurely after-work rides and longer day trips that focus on nature, exercise, and shared experiences. Meeting points for the tours are often central locations in the city, such as Seetorplatz near the City Museum.
In addition, the local chapter offers practical services related to bicycles. At the self-help workshop, cyclists receive assistance with maintenance and minor repairs, as well as helpful tips on caring for and securing their bikes. In addition, bicycle registration services are offered regularly, allowing bikes to be uniquely identified and thus better protected against theft.
