Built in 1619, the building features a gabled roof, twin windows, and arched doorways with transom windows on both eaves sides. The administrative building also housed a chapel, a cellar, stables, a granary, and a large hall. Used as a French military hospital in 1799, it served as the chancellery for the Württemberg financial administration from 1806 to 1810.
The name “Forstei” and Forsteiplatz derives from the district forestry office that was housed here during the period of Baden rule.
