Richard Dilger, View from the Höhrenberg
Richard Dilger, born in Überlingen, attended the art academy in Karlsruhe. He opened a studio there after the First World War. In 1942 he settled in Allensbach. His preferred motifs are Allensbach and the lake. In his large-format paintings in the style of “Karlsruhe landscape painting”, he depicts the world as he perceives it “as a threatening, gloomy force that reveals a greater order in sensibly held tension”.
Location of the stele: On the Höhrenberg. From the Evangelical Church of Grace (parking lot) approx. 3 minutes' walk to the east, from the town center approx. 10 minutes' walk. The original can be seen on request at Allensbach Town Hall.
