Maier Incense Garden
Incense plant garden at the former St Michael's Chapel in Schienen
Beschreibung
At the former St Michael's Chapel in Schienen, you will find an incense garden that is related to the original Celtic past of this ancient place of power. The most important local incense herbs are grown in small beds. The custom of cleansing the house and stables with aromatic herbs and resins has a long tradition and is still considered very important today. There is a Celtic stone circle in front of the entrance. The annual cycle with 4 solar and 4 lunar festivals as transitional phases between the seasons can be interpreted as the medicine wheel of the European cultural sphere. A half-timbered bee house
rounds off the overall appearance.
