Palm House
With its palm and orange trees, the Palm House is the exotic heart of the flower island. More than 20 different palm species can be seen here, including a Canary Island date palm (Phoenix canariensis) over 15 metres tall.
Beschreibung
The Palm House provides a unique setting for plant shows, above all the famous orchid show in spring or the autumn exhibition in September/October. The house is also ideal for other high-calibre events such as concerts and weddings. The castle café with terrace is open all year round.
The Palmenhaus is also something special from an architectural point of view. It was completely renovated in 1998. The floor area is 1270 square metres. The house has a maximum height of 17.40 metres. The roof and façade elements are double-skinned and made of highly transparent acrylic glass. In terms of temperature, the palm house is designed as a cold house (10-12 degrees C). If required (events, orchid show), higher temperatures can be maintained, supported by additional floor heating.
