Radolfzeller Aachried Nature Reserve
The Radolfzeller Aachried is a vast wetland area between Singen, Moos and Radolfzell. The Ried provides a valuable habitat for rare species of flora and fauna and is particularly impressive when the irises are in bloom.
The Radolfzeller Aachried Nature Reserve covers around 275 hectares between Singen, Moos and Radolfzell. The extensive wetland landscape along the Radolfzeller Aach is one of the region’s most important natural habitats and refuges. It provides suitable living conditions for numerous animal and plant species, some of which are endangered. The landscape along the Aach is of particular importance for resting and breeding bird species. The iris bloom is a stunning natural spectacle, bathing parts of the marsh in vibrant colours from May to June. Morning mists also lend the area a special charm. The natural dynamics of the Radolfzeller Aach help to ensure that a variety of habitats are constantly being created. From Überlingen am Ried and Bohlingen, the varied landscape can be easily explored on walks and cycle rides.
