Schienerberg Landscape Conservation Area
The Schienerberg Landscape Conservation Area stretches from Bohlingen into the Singen area. Vast forests, meadows and hilltops offering panoramic views characterise the unspoilt landscape between Hegau, Höri and Untersee.
The Schienerberg rises to the south and south-east of Bohlingen and forms the transition from the Hegau region to the Höri peninsula and the Untersee. Parts of the extensive Schienerberg Landscape Conservation Area lie within the boundaries of the city of Singen. It is characterised by a comparatively unspoilt, varied landscape with extensive woodland, open meadows and areas used for agriculture. Official planning documents describe the Schienerberg and Höri as a landscape that remains largely unspoilt between Lake Zell and the Untersee. On the Singen side, the Schienerberg is particularly well worth exploring from Bohlingen. Hiking and Nordic walking routes follow forest tracks through extensive beech woods and up to the mountain’s peaks. Along the way, views of the surrounding Hegau hills, fields and woods open up time and again. This makes the Schienerberg both a significant landscape and an attractive area for peaceful nature experiences.
