A leisurely walk along the River Aach

Pure nature on the outskirts of Hausen an der Aach: shortly after setting off, you leave the last houses of the village behind. A quiet tarmac path leads past lush meadows and fields, whilst the striking silhouettes of the Hegau volcanoes, Hohentwiel and Hohenkrähen, stand out clearly in the near distance – impressive companions on this section of the route.

On the way back, the scenery changes: following the River Aach, the path leads through the Hausener Aachried nature reserve, which has been designated a ‘landscape of special character and beauty’. An information board provides fascinating insights into the extraordinary diversity of rare plant and animal species that inhabit this protected habitat. Several benches overlooking the gently flowing Aach invite you to pause and take in the view – the perfect spot for a short break.
