Wegbeschreibung
We start the day tour from Allensbach train station and cycle along Holzgasse, over the B33 and turn left to reach the Bündtlisried nature reserve on quiet country lanes, which is completely covered with water lilies between June and September. At the parking lot of the wildlife and leisure park, we cross the district road and continue straight ahead on shady forest paths to the southern shore of the idyllic Mindelsee. The route continues through a beautiful reed landscape via Mindelseestraße to the center of Möggingen. If you wish, you can visit the visitor center of the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior in Schlossallee1, 78315 Möggingen/Radolfzell. Cycle a short distance along St. Gallus-Straße and then turn right (Im Tenn) towards Güttingen, where you turn right onto the Lake Constance cycle path via Liggeringen to Langenrain. There it is worth taking a short detour to the vine chapel on the Sophienberg, a vantage point 560 m above sea level with a magnificent view of the entire Bodanrück.
The route continues to the next village, Freudental. If you fancy a hearty snack, you are in good hands at the Bauernstube Litz. In front of Freudental's “bathing lake”, the route continues in the shadow of the baroque Freudental Castle via Stöckenhofweg to Stöckenhof. At the district road, we turn left and reach the game and leisure park, passing the Mindelsee country inn. At the end of the parking lot, we take the same route back to Allensbach - and if you're lucky, you might spot some resting greylag geese this time.
