Wegbeschreibung
This hike starts at the Landesgartenschau bus stop car park. To reach the 688-metre summit of Hohentwiel, follow the access road to the foot of the mountain. There, you will find the entrance to the Widerholdweg, which leads to the estate. First, purchase your tickets at the information centre, then make your way to the Hohentwiel ruins. Afterwards, turn left at the edge of the forest below the ruins towards Hilzingen. At the next gravel path junction, turn left again. You will then come to a tarmac path, where you should turn right. Follow this road until you reach the second junction with a gravel path. Turn left here and head up into the forest. Turn right at the next three junctions. You will reach the edge of the forest, where you should continue straight ahead along the dirt track, passing the Paradieshof farm.
Shortly before the Hegauhaus, you will reach the K6125. Follow this road uphill for approximately 750 metres, then at the car park for hikers, cross the road and turn onto the path below. At the next junction, bear right and you will arrive at the ascent to the Hohenkrähen castle ruins (643 m), where you should turn right. After visiting the castle ruins, continue at the foot of Hohenkrähen along Albert-Riesterer-Weg into the forest. Continue along the edge of the forest on a small path that leads through bushes to an open meadow. From here, you can already see your next destination, the ruins of Mägdeberg (654 m). Turn left, then right again immediately afterwards. Follow this path straight ahead downhill on a tarred road. At the next crossroads in the field, turn left. This will lead you directly to the car park and the ruins at Mägdeberg. After visiting the ruins, retrace your steps uphill to the field cross. Continue straight ahead from there. In the distance, you will see the historic town of Aach.
Stay on this tarmac road going downhill until you reach the L191. Go through the underpass to reach Mühlhausen-Ehingen (452 m). Turn right into Schlossstraße, and after a few metres you will reach Mühlhausen Castle. Those interested can make a detour to the church, about 500 metres away, or go directly to the train station. If you continue along Schlossstraße, you will reach the church. Back at the castle, continue straight ahead and turn right onto Bahnhofstraße. Take the next left and you will arrive at the train station. From here, you can take the Seehas back to Singen and get off at the Landesgartenschau stop. If you are travelling by car, you can also park in the Hohentwiel car park and start the hike from there. However, bear in mind that at the end of the hike, you will still have to climb back up to the Hohentwiel to reach your car.
