Besonderheiten der Tour
Aussichtsreich / Botanische Highlights / Kulturelle Highlights
A unique event is the Mooser water procession, which takes place every year in July.
Iznang, a former fishing settlement and birthplace of Dr Franz Anton Messmer, the discoverer of animal magnetism (1794-1815), lies directly on the lakeshore. Weiler, with its gem Bettnang and the late Gothic parish church of St Leonhard, is well worth a visit. A knight's castle is said to have once stood here and the Grünenberg monastery once stood on the border of the district near the forest. Both have long since disappeared and nothing is left of the buildings.
At the foot of the wooded Schienerberg lies the rural village of Bankholzen in this unique, enchanting landscape with a high recreational value and excellent gastronomy. From the Höri there are marvellous views of the Hegau mountains,
the Alps, the island of Reichenau and Lake Constance. The fascinating landscape with forest and lake, fruit and vegetable plantations around the Schienerberg is largely under nature and landscape protection.
