Besonderheiten der Tour
Aussichtsreich / Geologische Highlights
With just under 500 metres of elevation gain and a distance of 45 kilometres, the road bike route for participants in the Lake Constance Megathlon Radolfzell can be completed in around 1.5 hours. You can, of course, take a little longer to complete the route, but otherwise you will cover the same distance as the Megathlon participants. Starting in Radolfzell, the route runs via Moos to Gaienhofen, then makes a large arc through the Schiener Berg forests, passing Rielasingen-Worblingen on the way back to Radolfzell. The route is largely flat, with two notable climbs.
Autorentipp
To enjoy a magnificent bird's-eye view of Lake Constance, turn right just after you pass through the centre of Gundholzen, then take the next right into Weiler Straße. This will take you on a short detour to the water tower, which also offers a good view.
Wegbeschreibung
The tour begins at the Herzogenbad in Radolfzell. From there, you will cycle through the Radolfzeller Achmündung nature reserve to Moos. Following the country road, which offers occasional glimpses of the lake, you will pass through Iznang, Gundholzen and Horn en route to Gaienhofen. In Iznang, you will pass a beautifully located lido. After passing through Horn and Gaienhofen, you will cycle alongside the lake to Wangen. Here, you will leave the lake behind and tackle the tour's biggest climb.
Shortly after Schienen, you will reach the highest point, where you can rest your legs. From there, the route winds downhill through several bends until you reach Bohlingen. The rest of the route is undulating with no major climbs. Continue through Worblingen and on to Überlingen am Ried. Stay on the country road to cycle back to your starting point in Radolfzell.
