Wegbeschreibung
The cycle tour starts at the stele of ferryman Konrad Stader at the Lände in Allensbach. From there, the tour begins to the northwest along the lake towards Radolfzell. The Lake Constance cycle path takes you to Markelfingen. Here you will find the fisherman Uli Judan at the Narrenbrunnen fountain.
The path leads you along the Markelfinger Winkel to Radolfzell. Via the concert sail, along the lake, the town garden opens up, where Bishop Ratoldus tells you about his connection to Reichenau.
The tour continues along the Lake Constance cycle path via Moos to the suburb of Iznang, where a farmer's wife from 1530 welcomes you.
For the next historical point, you cycle approx. 6 km along the lake, past Gundelholzen and Horn to Gaienhofen. Once you arrive at the landing stage, you will find the Prior Johann Ego. (TIP: to shorten the route, take the Schifffahrt Lang from Gaienhofen to Berlingen from May to September at 10.15 am, 2.15 pm or 3.45 pm; cash only).
The tour continues via Wangen to Stein am Rhein. Here you change banks and cycle on through Eschenz, Mammern, Steckborn and finally to Berlingen. Silvana, the wine farmer's wife, is located at the harbor there and provides some interesting information about her life.
To reach the penultimate silhouette at Arenberg Castle in Salenstein, cycle past the railroad station in Unterdorf and follow Arenbergstrasse. Once you arrive at the Napoleon Museum, Prince Louis Napoléon will take you back to the 19th century.
Back in Mannenbach, the solar ferry (May to Sept. until 4.50 pm, only in good weather) takes you to Reichenau. Alternatively, you can take the URH boat trip (12.27 pm, 4.35 pm, 6.35 pm and 2.27 pm on Sundays and public holidays). When crossing the island, you will find Abbot Heito at the tourist information office. (TIP: visit the Reichenau Museum) The Baumann boat trip takes you back to Allensbach every hour until 5.15 pm (in July and August until 6.15 pm).
Alternative without boat trip: Cycle to Constance and take the SBB 6 back to Allensbach free of charge with your BODENSEECARDWEST.
