The upper gate

Although the Obertor has not stood for over 120 years, its name is familiar to every resident of Radolfzell. The images on the left and right, taken from the flanking buildings, show the gate with its drawbridge and the town layout around 1750. In the background, you can see the cathedral with its 82-meter-high tower. This makes it the tallest church tower on Lake Constance.
