Wangen Pile Dwelling Reconstruction

The Fischerhaus Museum built a pile dwelling reconstruction next to the fisherman's house nearly identical to where the original pile dwelling once stood in the shallow water zone of the Untersee. It depicts a realistic scene from 5,900 years ago.

There is a small exhibition in the pile dwelling, as well as displays on Stone Age history and culture by the Institute for Wet Soil and Underwater Archeology of the State Monuments Office in Hemmenhofen.
